Teenager Extinguishes Brisbane ANZAC Square Eternal Flame

A Brisbane (St Lucia) teenager pleaded guilty to causing a public nuisance when he poured beer over the Anzac Square Eternal Flame and extinguished it. He was fined $200 and has written an apology letter to the RSL.

News Reader: A St Lucia teenager has been fined for pouring beer over the ANZAC Square Eternal Flame last month. Andrew William Rattray pleaded guilty to committing a public nuisance. The 19 year old will pay a 200 fine, no conviction was recorded. He and a friend were drinking at a hotel, they decided to scale the fence to extinguish the flame.
